LOS ANGELES 2028: The Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) Board sent a letter asking the Trump transition team for $3.2 billion for 2028 Olympic projects. Metro has mostly been turned down in its applications to the Biden Administration. Read more here: https://bit.ly/3Zpl0Fb

BOXING: The gender controversy highlighted at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games continues as Taiwan's Olympic women's 57 kg champ Yu-ting Lin opted out of the just-started World Boxing Cup Finals in England. FOOTBALL: Two U.S. Senators wrote to FIFA President Gianni Infantino, raising their opposition to the upcoming selection of Saudi Arabia as the host for the 2034 FIFA World Cup. It won’t matter. Memorabilia: The Sportlympique X auction in Paris comes on 3 December, with torches from 11 Olympic and Winter Games on offer, including a Paris 2024 torch.

Athletics: The Boston Athletic Association announced that it will pay upgraded prize money to all athletes who were shortchanged by finishers ahead of them who were disqualified for doping. The offer goes back to their first prize-money race, in 1986!

Cycling: At the post-season briefing for the UCI World Tour and Women’s World Tour, a medical policy limits inhalation of carbon monoxide to once, and under medical supervision. The UCI has asked the World Anti-Doping Agency to look into adding a rule on this.?

Sailing: World Sailing posted its strategy document for 2025-29, highlighting initiatives in four areas: Commercial and Events, Growth, Governance, and Impact. A difficult challenge for a federation with 140 national members, but also governing 120 boat classes!

Weightlifting: The International Weightlifting Federation cheered the report from the International Testing Agency on pre-Paris 2024 drug testing, with all 120 lifters who competed in Paris tested prior to the Games. For a sport which almost got thrown off the Olympic program, that’s important.?
