● Cricket: New Zealand won its first title in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in the UAE, defeating South Africa in the final by 32 runs.?
● Curling: Sweden defended its 2023 title, with an entirely new team, at the World Curling Mixed Team Championship in Scotland.?

● Football: Defending champion Spain is 2-0 at the FIFA Women’s U-17 World Cup, being played in the Dominican Republic. The U.S. is 1-1 and in position to advance, depending on their last pool match.?
● Freestyle Skiing & Snowboard: The FIS World Cup seasons in Big Air started in Chur, Switzerland, with Japan’s Taiga Hasegawa and Mari Fukada winning in Freestyle and Matej Svancer of Austria and Swiss Mathilde Gremaud winning in Snowboard.?
? One-time Canadian Olympic snowboarder Ryan Wedding is wanted by the U.S. Justice Department for running a major drug ring and for at least three murders. He was already convicted of drug running, in 2010.?
● Triathlon: Britain’s Paris Olympic champ, Alex Yee, won the seasonal World Triathlon Championship Series title in Spain, while New Zealand’s Hayden Wilde won the final race on Sunday. France’s Cassandre Beaugrand, the Olympic gold medalist, won her first World title by also winning her race.?
● Water Polo: The Aquatics Integrity Unit has suspended the Italian men’s national team for six months for verbal abuse and physical actions at the Paris 2024 Olympic quarterfinals and the follow-up classification game. This will keep Italy out of the 2025 World Cup, but not the 2025 World Championships.?
