TSAVORA FENCING BALLOON CHAMPIONSHIP EXPERIENCE AT HURUMA
Tsavora Fencing Club made a lively street Fencing competition on? Sunday 30th October. Residents of Huruma town could not miss? this spectacular exposition as boys and girls made one-on-one? combat using different types of weapons. The fascinating part of it is? that the youngsters made aggressive attacks on each other and also? on their coach - Isaac Mburu Wanyoike.?
The Balloon Fencing? Competition was a game of survival, engrossing in what was happening. At first, every person was fighting for themselves and? ensuring that the balloon did not pop. The idea was to play defense as quickly as possible using a blade. “Some experts of Tsavora? Fencing Club Cadets found it difficult to protect a balloon.” Coach? Isaac Mburu mentioned.?
The crowd of Huruma town experienced the sport of Fencing as entertaining, a form of therapy, a means of body exercise that keeps one healthy, said Muchira, one of the residents.??
Cadet Ettana Njeri explains that the Fencing experience was great!? The contest strengthened her skills, and she is better than before.? Fencing is a sport of logic. Only when your mind is sober and you have a zeal for the game, can you engage your opponent and win. "I am balloon-phobic. I wondered what would? happen next, but I didn't even hear the balloon popping. Today I had to end my worries.” Ettana Njeri, a cadet of Tsavora Fencing? Club, said.
During a balloon Fencing competition, winning is not landing the? winning blow but having an un-popped balloon at the end. So it? does not matter if one engages the expert - Coach Isaac Mburu.? Cadets played defense as other amateurs engaged.?
Using êpêê, Saber, or Foil blade in balloon contests has challenges?because it takes a high-technique form of art to protect a balloon.? The problems an athlete faces are No backstabs and no glancing hits? count as much as 'fatal' strikes or grappling.
An interesting effect of Fencing épéé is that it destroys your? footwork. In Saber and Foil, right of way creates a specific rhythm to? the footwork. If you Fence Saber, you will Fence Foil from time to? time, but if you Fence épéé for fun, it will take the better part of a? practice to get your footwork back in order. Remember that in épéé? Fencing, you protect the whole body because a Fencer must be? quick, practice martial arts, and protect themselves.
Saber, similar to Foil, has the concept of 'right of way'. The attacker? has the right to the attack, and the defender must defend before one? can counter-attack. The individual's survival is more important than? the death or defeat of the opponent.?
During the contest in Huruma, the young boys and girls formed?groups, rushed and engaged at the front, and others at the back to?protect the balloons. Both experts and amateurs controlled their? movements and timings, later scattered. Girls defeated the boys after?the championship. What a game! You should not miss this Fencing competition again!?
Tsavora Fencing Club is the number one Fencing Club in Kenya? Coach Isaac Mburu is dedicated to training youngsters, youth, and? even the elderly as long as you have a passion and want to take? Fencing sport to the next level. The best Fencers from the club are? given training sponsorship where they travel to South Africa for a?Diploma course in master of Fencing and a higher certificate in? Fitness and Coaching Science. They not only have these? opportunities but also travel outside the country and compete with?other Fencers across the globe.?
