Position Summary

You should have broad and general experience across business applications and a strong understanding of Agile practices and a Product-centric operating model.

?As Engineering Manager in Technology Services, you will spend a significant amount of time as an ambassador to the personnel in the region, representing the Technology Services organization at F5 Headquarters, while connecting with the personnel so that they perform at their full potential by being their local Point of Contact on all “Engineering Matters.” Additionally, you will work closely with the TS Site Manager, Community Manager, and other TS Engineering Managers to provide a comprehensive support framework for the local personnel.

?To be successful in this role, you should have broad technical knowledge, have superb people skills, excel at leadership skills, and appreciate human dynamics with peers and customers in the workplace.

Primary Responsibilities

·??????Provide a support leadership presence from our Seattle HQ office in the local office

·??????Be a Local Point of Contact on all “Engineering Matters”

·??????Be a mentor, coach, advisor, and facilitator to the local personnel under the Engineering Team

·??????Provide technical guidance on TS Operational processes

·??????Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks, earning certifications, among other

·??????Responsible for upholding F5’s Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies

·??????Performs other related duties as assigned

?Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

·??????Ability to work in a multifaceted, matrix-managed environment across local, regional, and global offices

·??????Proven track record in managing and developing employees

·??????Strong communication, planning, analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills

·??????Experience working on a team and leveraging Agile development methodologies

·??????Ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment

·??????Proven knowledge of ITIL, the framework

·??????Must be able to communicate fluently in English (written and oral)

·??????General understanding of SOX, ISO, and other compliance legal and industry standards

?Qualifications

·??????BS/BA degree in computer science, information systems, related field, or equivalent work experience

·??????6+ years of Information Technology experience

·??????3+ years of working in a corporate environment in the Technology Services department

·??????3+ years as Team Lead, manager, supervisor, or similar

·??????Working knowledge of Agile delivery principles

·??????Strong base knowledge of enterprise applications, security best-practices

·??????Proficient with enterprise applications, such as ServiceNow, SharePoint, Confluence

?Physical Demands and Work Environment

·??????Duties are performed in a typical office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table

·??????Duties require the ability to utilize a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material

·??????Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside regular working hours (evenings and weekends)

·??????Duties may require the ability to travel via automobile or airplane; less than 10% of the time spent traveling
