A Tryst with Time
Time is money. Time flies. Time is limited. That's how people define 'Time'. When I got a little time to sit by the window and spend some time with 'Time', I realized a few things that I experienced. Let me share those with you and engrave it in digital ink for it to linger online for as long as the cloud permits.
Time is a spectator: Neither a foe, nor a friend. Time is a spectator and will remain so until the end. It has a very unique way of teaching you things, how? By minding its own business. Time doesn't warn you, nor does it cheer you. It just passes. It just keeps moving endlessly.
You have to take charge and note what needs to be done before it's not necessary to do that thing at all.
Time does not heal, your memories fade: Great people say time heals everything. No. It's not true. Imagine recollecting a fall you had when you were 9 years old. You don't remember the details because your memory fades. Just in case you feel time heals, remember it heals only if you allow it to. Pain can linger on for longer periods of time if you don't detach from the situation or the experience.
Time waits, only if you get the sign: Time keeps giving you hints, signs and signals so that you take note and improvise or change for the better. It waits for you and gives you a chance to transition. It does not pester and it never will. So, as long as you are true to your calling, time does wait.

It's the way you function that determines the amount of time at your disposal.
Time is directly proportional to your efforts: Time is volatile, this is a known fact. However, if you put in efforts to achieve something, time stretches to accommodate your actions. If you are not keen on putting in efforts, time also loses interest in your pursuit and finds a way to fly away. Example? Tried completing a report by staying up late? Surprisingly, time also favours you and helps you accomplish the task before the deadline. It's a goal you both gun for. Similarly, if it's an exam or a test you haven't put efforts into, time also flies and leaves you in a mess.
Time is a flirt: Time is not a committed partner. It's an attractive flirt. It tries to woo you into believing it will never leave you but you know the reality. So, thinking that you will do something after 5 years. and there will be time for it, is an illusion. Time has many lovers and all the people who have dated it have been disillusioned sooner or later.
Don't marry Time, flirt with it and let it go.
Time is wisdom: When time teaches, you become wise. So, it essentially is your greatest source of wisdom. That's how we know who are fair-weather friends and who are friends in need. Teachers lead by example but time teaches by actions. The only instance where time does not teach you is when you have exhausted the opportunity and left things for the last minute
Just close your eyes, breathe and relax as you have a rendezvous with Time. Live it to believe it. Nudge your inner self and snap out of your inertia. Time will value you if you know how to value it.

2 年Time is the longest distance between two places. They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself.
