TRY MARKETING INSTEAD OF SELLING...

ARE YOU MARKETING OR SELLING?

Are you selling or marketing yourself, product or services?

In my own experience "The aim of marketing for me has always been to make selling superfluous" Most of my marketing material does most of my heavy lifting so when I am speaking with a prospect, I never have to sell myself because all the heavy lifting has been done before hand by my marketing. It is amazing how many people don't get this and end up pitching to clients or prospects.

This is one of the main reasons most people end up being paid a low price by the hour or by the day rather than by the value they create for their clients.

So what is your marketing doing to help you minimize the amount of effort you have demonstrate to sell your services or product. i.e. When you are looking to by a Dyson vacuum cleaner the marketing has done its job already so when you walk into a store you don't need the sales person to persuade you to by a Dyson because all the heavy lifting has been done by the marketing.

Is your marketing doing your heavy lifting for you or are you still having to pitch and sell to most of your clients / customers? When you get your marketing right you will have prospects come to you but when you are selling you have to go out to them. Have I made the point clear enough or is this short post confusing anyone?
