The Truth About Women in Innovation
Susan Lindner
Global Keynote Speaker | Host, "The Innovation Storytellers Show" We help innovation leaders become amazing storytellers to get the resources, runway and recognition they deserve.
This Women's History Month is an excellent time to not only celebrate the remarkable women whose?breakthroughs have advanced our day to day lives, but also remember that their innovations aren't just a part of "women's history"...
Women are making history for?all?of us.
I think I can speak for all of us when I say we’d be lost without Ruth Graves Wakefield’s invention of the chocolate chip cookie in the 1930s...
But what about the Poet Lord Byron’s daughter, Ada Lovelace, who published the first machine algorithm in 1815?
Or NASA’s Katherine Johnson, the subject of the movie?Hidden Figures,?who manually calculated John Glenn’s orbit around the earth?
Not to mention Heddy Lamarr, the movie star turned WWII hero who invented and patented a hacker-proof, frequency-hopping signal that knocked enemy torpedoes off-course? That tech is the foundation of today’s Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and we need?both?like air.
That’s why Women’s History is OUR shared history... because we can't live without the ideas they gave us - and continue to give us.
Inside Out did a phenomenal job of gathering up a?2022 Watch List of Women In Innovation, which?highlighted?25 other women who are making an impact both inside and outside their organizations?in the field of innovation.
Please check out my fellow Women to Watch and, when your colleagues or kids ask you about women in innovation, you won’t need to look far to find women who are making history around us, every day.
Which women innovators are you thankful for today?
