The Truth is Not Out There…!

The Truth is Not Out There…!

How many times have you sought the answers to your questions about your life and how it’s unfolding? Where do you usually look for the clarity that will shed light on your circumstances? Do you still blame your parents for how your life has turned out? Don’t worry. It’s a perfectly normal reaction to life’s perils, pitfalls and disappointments. We look to our upbringing to explain many of the things we experience throughout our lives but it’s during the crises and major setbacks that we look for someone to blame for our misfortunes. Parents are a familiar target for our anger. Politicians, employers and society in general take a close second place. But how helpful is it to attach the blame to others?

Can you see the flaw in this approach to understanding the complexities of your existence? When we place responsibility for the outcomes in our lives upon others, we lose sight of the source of our personal power to choose. When we hand over the power to shape our lives and our destinies, we assume the passive role of the powerless, blindly chaining ourselves to the whims of whoever crosses our path. When we blame others for our conditions, we’re telling ourselves that we don’t have the power or the will or the choice to make a difference. This is not how we grow, develop and evolve.

If you want to experience a real sense of personal empowerment, you won’t find it outside of yourself. The answers you seek can only be found within the domain of your heart and mind. When you assume full responsibility for everything in your life, both past and present, the shift in emphasis opens up the gateway to powerful choices about how you think and feel. The belief that you have chosen your pathway and everything that’s occurred along the way grants you the freedom to make positive choices for the future. You stop blaming others. You bask in the new-found knowledge that you are free to direct your life with purpose, clarity, determination and confidence. This change in perspective is the foundation of personal freedom because, once you choose to exchange gratitude for the old habit of blaming others, a profound and positive shift will follow in the way you think, feel and behave. The power is already within you. It was always there. Take a moment to change your focus to your internal landscape and open your life to the wonders that are waiting to be discovered.?
