The Truth About Mammon - Part 1
Kingdom Initiatives
KI teaches on how to multiply your business and transform marketplace culture to achieve prosperity for all.
The symptoms of Goat Nations – which is referring to the huge social distress issues that we see around the world such as human trafficking, poverty, starvation, unemployment, suicide, domestic violence, substance abuse, corrupt governments, refugees etc – all stem from the work of an incredibly resilient enemy of God.
In the marketplace, this is known as the Babylonian economy of greed, corruption and self-centeredness which has dominated the world for over 4,000 years since the rebellion of Noah’s grandson Cush, and the indoctrination of Cush’s son Nimrod. It was Nimrod and his wife Samuramis who built Babylon.
Christians have absolutely no chance of ousting Babylon from the marketplace if we are not able to firstly identify this enemy and secondly understand how to defeat this enemy.
Overcoming this enemy is the very essence of bringing the kingdom of God into the marketplace, because Babylon is the counterculture of the kingdom of God. This is not Christianese ladies and gentlemen; this is for real.
So, we must begin by identifying who is “the enemy
When I first became a Christian, I heard my Pastor and other Christians refer to “the enemyâ€. As an ex-military guy, I wanted to know about him. I asked around and most of the congregation didn’t really know.
Most people said the enemy was sin, but sin was ultimately defeated by Jesus, so we didn’t have to bother.
Others elaborated further explaining how the enemy was sin, but if you sinned Jesus would forgive you 70 x 7 times, so it was not serious.
Some believed the enemy lived in hell so was not really a threat if we don’t end up there ourselves.

A few commented that once we become a Christian, the enemy is no longer an issue.
Some even said the enemy was money – but the Pastor kept asking for money every Sunday, so I wondered why he was so keen on collecting the enemy all the time.
With further investigation, I read 1 Peter 5:8 which states: ‘Control yourselves and be careful! The devil is your enemy, and he goes around like a roaring lion looking for someone to attack and eat.’
This scripture was written after Jesus had defeated the enemy through his resurrection. So, why was the enemy still alive, and if not, what did we need to be careful of?
As I looked around, I saw that some Christians were involved with large scale paedophilia, substance abuse, domestic violence, marriage breakdown, business collapse, poverty, genocides, you name it. I realised Christians were living with a lack of understanding and did not know or recognise the enemy.
As a result, people allow the enemy into their lives and by default they become part of the problem.
Therefore, because of my military background and especially because I had served in the SAS and Selous Scouts where we learnt the enemy so intimately that we could infiltrate their ranks and eliminate them, I needed to know who this enemy was.
In the Bible, Daniel went to the most pagan university, the Uni of Chaldeans, and learnt the enemy so well that he was ten times better than other academics. From here, he influenced the public policies of the next three rulers of the biggest empires in the world.
I absolutely needed the knowledge that Daniel had, so I could recognise and defeat the enemy in the marketplace.
