?? How about if you completed your college degree and got a 10-12 lac job?
?? How about if you got a promotion on time without approaching your senior or management, irrespective of whether you are an introvert or extrovert?
?? How about if you were appreciated whenever you stayed late to deliver the project or whenever you pushed your limits?
?? How about if you got rewarded at the end of the year with what you truly deserve?
?? How about if you could leave the office on time daily and spend 1-2 hours with your family every day?
?? How about if you didn't need to think twice about planning a leave with your family?
?? How about if you didn't need to worry about surviving after reaching a certain level in a corporate job?
?? How about if you weren't judged and were respected equally, regardless of your experience or skills?
?? How about if you didn't need to worry about being laid off, and there was a provision to cover your expenses without worry?
?? How about if you weren't judged or interviewed by freshers?
?? How about if there was a provision for each organization to focus on upgrading the skills of every employee?
?? How about if you were treated respectfully after a certain period of time and encouraged to become an entrepreneur?
Thinking like that seems impossible in the corporate world, isn't it?
When you join a company, a long lecture is given by your HR. The most important and famous dialogue is, "We are a family and we treat everyone as a family member."
This sentence is just to fool you, and we start working like loyal employees for the company. We put our hard work, blood, and sweat into the company. The reality is that there is no family and no family members. They just work like robots, and you will be treated as a robot too, not a human being in that family.
Sometimes, I feel that corporate people have no emotions. There is no empathy or humanity towards each other. The person you work closely with every day, whom you trust the most, eats your food behind your back and tries to showcase themselves as superior in front of the boss. During appraisal, they get a promotion and a good appraisal, and you have to listen to a lot of things like:
?? You need to work on your communication skills.
?? You lack technical skills, so you must focus on that as well.
?? You are not able to handle a team. You have to start taking responsibilities and learn leadership skills.
?? You have to also focus on presentation and documentation skills.
And the list goes on....
Have you ever thought about why this happens to you during the appraisal cycle?
It’s happening because of your senior, lead, or manager with whom you work closely, and you think they are your best friend. He is the person who talks negatively about you in front of your boss to showcase himself or herself as superior all the time, my friend. You might be an introvert; that's correct. You might lack communication skills, which is why he/she can communicate with your boss regularly and try to show that you are nothing. You do not deserve a promotion or appraisal as well.
How would you feel when you get to know that the person you love and trust the most was playing games with you behind your back?
Is this not a heartbreaking or disheartening thing for you?
The person you trust and love the most is your biggest enemy.
Suppose you ignored all these things and moved ahead in your career. Because in such situations, I think you can't work in that kind of environment and with those kinds of people. You joined another organization with new energy and enthusiasm. Again, you started working day and night to build your reputation because it's a new place, and you have to build a good reputation. Again, you face a lot of politics, but now you have learned many things from your previous organization. People are the same here as well, but this time you will focus on keeping yourself safe.
Let's say again you win the heart of your CEO, and you start shining. Again, the other people start feeling jealous, even the director also starts feeling insecure. He is thinking you might replace him. But I know you are a person with a pure heart and can't think anything bad about anyone else. If you can't attack anyone, keeping yourself safe is your duty.
Isn't it?
You have received many awards in the organization and are very close to the CEO. Now, another person has joined the organization and he starts thinking that you are? growing fast. You must be stopped, otherwise, you can’t survive here. This new person starts finding mistakes in you. Nobody is perfect in this world. He starts adding fuel to the fire against you. You are unaware of what is happening against you in the organization. Slowly, the person who loved you most, the founder and CEO, starts doubting you, even questioning the previous work you did.
Here again, I would like to say that these people are not behaving like humans; they are behaving like robots. Whatever instructions are given by this new person, the CEO follows and executes them.
As a result, you get a call saying today is your last working day and you need to submit the company assets as soon as possible. Once again, the family has decided to oust a family member without listening to them. What kind of family is that, my friend?

You might be thinking that on your last day, you will say something about your work, what you learned here, and most importantly, show gratitude towards this organization because it gave you a lot. But as I said, in the corporate world, there are no human beings, only robots. They don’t have feelings for others. They don’t care how you will feel, how you will survive, or how you will take care of your family. Not at all.
The next day, when you go to the office to submit your laptop and follow the exit policy, your legs do not move towards the company. The organization where you spent so much time now seems like a strange place. The people you worked with, laughed with, and had tea or lunch breaks with now seem like strangers. It’s as if you don’t know these people. You try to push yourself towards the office, but your body and mind push you in the opposite direction. Now you realize this was not actually your family. It’s the truth. Everything is false. The promises made by the CEO, HR, or management were all false.
Is this not the reality of the corporate world?
When this happens, you remember all the past times you spent with that organization, friends, and colleagues. The good moments when you were rewarded. Then you ask yourself if it was all fake. You wonder why you are thinking about this incident again and again. But there are some incidents in life that you can’t forget, no matter how hard you try.
You have a lot of monthly expenses like the EMI of your home, EMI of your car, children’s education fees, and other expenses to survive. If you are in a situation where you don’t have a backup, how hard would it be to survive?
But in such situations, you have to keep yourself positive and motivated. You need a person who motivates you all the time. By keeping yourself motivated, you must involve yourself in activities like the gym, yoga, gardening, etc. It is crucial to keep your focus diverted. This is the time when you will realize what skills or knowledge you have. You will understand what mistakes you made previously. This is the time to work and focus on yourself. Instead of dwelling on what happened, you must start working on self-development, self-improvement, and reading books. Books are good friends who never leave you alone and always keep you motivated.
If you were on top and now you are at the bottom, this is the game of life. It was just a dream, but to remain on top, you have to work hard on yourself. It can take time, but when you reach the top again, nobody will dare to bring you down. It was your mistake, and you have to correct it.
But why am I sharing this with you? So that:
?? You do not repeat the same mistakes.
?? You can avoid the trap of a fake family.
?? You can spend quality time with your real family.
?? You treat this as just a dream, not a real achievement.
?? You do not treat a job as your primary source of income and start thinking of a permanent source of income.
?? You start working on your skill set.
?? You start investing in your self-development and self-improvement so that you can survive in any situation in your life ahead.
Whether you love me or hate me, this is the reality of the corporate world. I advise you, please do not treat your job as your primary source of income. Instead, treat your job as a secondary and temporary source of income. From your first job, when you start earning money, start utilizing that money and investing in your self-development so that you gain tons of knowledge. After 2-3 years, you could start something that becomes a permanent source of income. Please do not depend only on your job. You never know when your last working day will be, my friend.
There will be many challenges and struggles in your corporate journey, but you must build an unstoppable mindset and an unbreakable personality within yourself. One piece of advice I would like to give you is: "Never give up, my friend." This is the only way to move forward and achieve success in your career and life.
Now the question is, what are the solutions to these corporate problems?
Many times, I think there should be a community to address these issues, like human rights.?
?? A lot of companies, in documents, state 5-day work weeks but ask people to work 6 days. Why?
?? All the companies ask you to sign that they can ask you to leave anytime, but you have to serve a 2-3 month notice period. Why?
??All the organizations treat you as labor, not as an employee. They ask you to stay late and finish work on the same day, even if it’s not feasible.
??All the organizations ask you to resign and then show on their papers that the employee resigned voluntarily while they are actually asking you to leave. Why?
?? Most unicorn startups show fake transactions to become unicorns. Why?
There are many other issues like these. But my concern is, do you think all these things are legal? Don’t you think there should be a community to take care of these issues and listen to the people facing these challenges? I think there should be an organization or a community that can listen to people and stand with those who are facing these challenges.
I am thinking about creating such a community where all corporate issues are addressed and people are actually treated like family, not a fake family. This community will listen to each and every employee and will face the respective organization on behalf of the employee. This community will help people to stay motivated, focus on self-development, self-improvement, self-discovery, knowledge sharing, helping laid-off people, finding and getting jobs, and guiding people at every step. I am ready to work and build that kind of community. Whatever efforts are needed, I am willing to give.
Are you ready?
A single person alone can’t achieve such big things. If someone is willing to try, it will still take a lot of time. But with the help of each other, any target can be achieved together. If you are ready, then together we can build such a community. Collectively, we can work together to improve the corporate culture.
Isn’t that interesting?
