The Truth about building muscle

Muscle gain is mostly dependent on how hard you work.

It has been shown that the last few hard reps of a set are the ones that promote development.

Alternatively known as "stimulating repetitions"

Most individuals, on the other hand, find it difficult to achieve the same degree of tenacity with normal sets.

When things become a bit too uncomfortable, they tend to underperform or even abandon their sets altogether.

Is it possible to manipulate the system such that more effort is put towards building muscle?

The encouraging news is that...

there are multiple methods, which we can do this exact thing

In order to help you build more muscle, here are some of the most commonly used and recommended intensifiers:

Drop sets - As soon as your first set of reps is completed, immediately lower your weight and continue for the same amount of repetitions.

When you can't do any more repetitions with the weight, it's time to call it a day.

Depending on how much damage you wish to place on your body,?you can drop once, twice, or maybe even three times.

Supersets -?a series of two workouts performed back-to-back with no break in between. This is also an excellent option if you're short on time.

For example, working out your triceps with pushdowns and your biceps with cable curls; since these are opposing muscles, supersetting them makes perfect sense.

However, you may also perform two different exercises targeting the same muscle area at the same time. For example, you might perform a triceps pushdown followed by an overhead triceps extension to work that muscle twice as hard.a

Half reps -?

When you reach the point where you start to feel fatigued and are unable to move the weight through its entire range of motion, finish the set with 10 more half repetitions to produce additional strain.

This one's got some serious sting to it!


Negative reps -?Even though it's only HALF your rep, make the most of the negative portion by slowing down and creating tension!

Count down from 3 to zero.

Those are a couple of my favourite methods for destroying muscles and causing rapid development.
