The truth about accommodations.
What comes to mind when you hear the word "accommodation"? Closed captions for meetings? A service animal? Remote work? Or is it just something expensive that might lead to lawsuits? For many, it conjures a mix of legal jargon, misconceptions, and workplace anxiety.
On top of the negative stigma, Joshin's data shows that 64% of employees don't know what accommodations are available or even how to request them. There's a lot of unease and confusion around this legally protected, empowering workplace right, but there is some good news. Research by JAN reveals that when implemented effectively, accommodations significantly increase retention by 85%, productivity by 53%, and attendance by 48%, as well as improving workplace dynamics and morale.
In this month's digest, we've included ways to tackle the stigma around accommodations with an invitation to our upcoming webinar on empowering accommodations and everyday adjustments, tips for more accessible interviews, and more!
As always, we are?here with you every step of the way.??
