Hello Hello!
Happy New Week Fam!
Today, I am musing about trusting our intuition as our north star for our career advancement.
My friend and I were running shopping errands this week in a new town. I had earlier visited this town and found a very resourceful guy. On our way there, I tried calling him severally but he wasn't picking up. On my third failed attempt, I heard a strong and compelling voice, ''Don't worry, if he is not reachable, it's because there is a solution being figured''.
And so instead of fretting and unnecessary worry, like I would have done in the past, I enjoyed the rest of the drive to our destination.
Believe it or not, on alighting, someone shows up from behind 'just to say hi' and guess who he is, 'my resourceful guy'.
Referred to as our ‘inner guru’ in my upcoming book So You Feel Stuck in Your Career? 20 thought-provoking ideas and 100+ self-coaching tools to awaken your inner guru and get you moving boldly! our higher self, intuition, innate intelligence, what we just know to be true, is a powerful tool, that if we could tap into more broadly, we would reap great benefits in creating our desired careers.
We all have it. The infinite intelligence that knows what is good for us. The little voice that calls us towards activities and adventures we can’t explain. The silent whisper to try something new.
Normally, we ignore it. Label it as too crazy an idea. Doubt it. Look around and see everyone is doing what is society approved and choose to follow that and so on.
Yet this little inner voice, this call for doing something unexpected, is a sign there is more for us. If only we could trust it.

I have spent several years sharpening my ability to listen to my inner intelligence or guru. I have coached individuals to start listening more to their positive inner self. It’s fascinating to encounter moments when an individual discovers, ''So I know everything I should do'' or ''Wait, I have done this before, I simply trusted myself and went for it''.
It’s normal to forget when our intuition has been our guiding light. That’s why we need to be surrounded by incredible coaches, mentors and friends who remind us.
When we tap this powerful force, we make better career decisions. We just know when an organization is not good for us. We just know when it’s the right moment to make a career move. We just know what networks to tap into to expose ourselves to new opportunities. We just know what jobs are best suited for us. We just know when we can’t trust certain networks…
People ask me, how can I learn to listen more to my inner-self/inner guru/infinite intelligence/intuition? ?Here are a few tips from my own experiences. It’s all about paying attention...
Over to you...which of these do you need to pay more attention to? Take some time to reflect; when in the past has trusting your inner guru created positive and surprising results for you in your career?
Wishing you an intuitively led week!
