Trusting God’s Plan When Life Doesn’t Make Sense
Bible Verse of the Day:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” – Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)
Today's Word:
Life often brings unexpected detours. You plan everything carefully, yet things don’t go as expected. The job opportunity falls through, an important relationship ends, or a delay disrupts your plans. In moments like these, it is easy to feel frustrated and question God’s direction. However, Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us that God sees what we cannot. He knows the whole story while we only see one page. His guidance is perfect, and He will make your path straight in His timing and His way.

Sarah had been preparing for months for a business opportunity that promised financial security. She put in hours of hard work, only for the deal to collapse at the last minute. She was heartbroken and confused. For weeks, she struggled to understand why God allowed this to happen.
Months later, Sarah was unexpectedly offered another job in a different city. This new opportunity provided her with more stability, growth, and a chance to serve others in ways she never imagined. Had she secured the initial deal, she would have missed out on God’s better plan.
How often do we experience something similar? A delay or closed door may actually be God protecting us or leading us to something greater. Instead of becoming discouraged, we must learn to trust His plan and embrace divine interruptions.
A great example of trusting God’s plan is the story of Elijah and the ravens (1 Kings 17:2-6). After Elijah prophesied a drought in Israel, God instructed him to hide by the Kerith Brook. There, God provided for him in an unusual way—ravens brought him bread and meat daily.
At first, it may have seemed strange that God would send a prophet to an isolated place rather than a grand mission. However, God knew that Elijah needed this period of provision and preparation before his greater assignment. Eventually, when the brook dried up, God led Elijah to the next phase of his journey. Elijah could have doubted God’s ways, but instead, he trusted Him completely.
Just like Elijah, we must trust that God’s delays, detours, and provisions are leading us to something far greater than we can see.
Today's Prayer:
“Father, I thank You for the doors You open and the ones You close. Help me to trust Your plan even when I do not understand it. Strengthen my faith to rely on You instead of my own understanding. When life’s delays frustrate me, remind me that You are guiding my steps. Use me for Your purpose and help me to discern Your direction. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Golden Nugget:
A delay is not a denial. What may seem like a setback is often a setup for something greater.
Conclusion:
Life’s interruptions can be frustrating, but they are not random. God is working behind the scenes, directing your steps even when you do not understand the journey. Instead of resisting change, trust that His plan is leading you toward something greater. Just as Elijah relied on God’s unusual provision, you too can rest in the assurance that God knows exactly what He is doing. Choose to trust Him today, and He will make your paths straight.
Stay encouraged and keep trusting in God’s perfect timing!
