Trust Your Inner Guidance – A Key to Success

Trust Your Inner Guidance – A Key to Success

Before I talk about inner guidance, I want to tell you a story.

For years, I searched for solutions for my many physical and mental problems. After being called a hypochondriac by a physician 53 years ago, I decided to learn what I could about how the body-mind works and how I might help myself.

In 1972, I started meditating and developed an interest in psychology, metaphysics, intuition, and various forms of energy healing. I also permanently gave up sugar, alcohol, and processed foods.

Over time, I came to understand that there are multiple ways to approach both physical and emotional discomforts and no individual practitioner or teacher has all of the answers.

I learned that although a particular method or modality such as chiropractic might be perfect for me, in the future, I might be led to another, such as naprapathy, as a more effective solution.

Some of the many different modalities I tried offered relief, but the overall solution was elusive.

An interesting answer

Eighteen years ago, when I was 65 and seeking solutions to my hypermobility problems, a physical therapist asked me if I knew about Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS).

After doing some online research, I learned that (EDS) is a genetic connective tissue disorder that causes all sorts of symptoms, many of which I had.

There was no doubt in my mind that EDS was my core problem. Just identifying the underlying disorder was a big relief.

At the time, few doctors knew anything about EDS (they still don’t), which is basically caused by mutations and variations in one or more collagen genes. (No, taking supplemental collagen doesn’t help.)

Learning to trust my inner guidance

Because there was no help to be had from the medical profession, I had no choice but to follow the inner “knowings” I had started to get years earlier after learning to meditate.

Along with meditation techniques, I also learned a lot about what might be called practical metaphysics and came to believe in the presence of inner guidance.

It didn’t take long for me to have experiences of being led to helpful information, practitioners, and “synchronicities” where what I needed would seem to just show up.

Because I had no option, I decided to follow where I was being led. Invariably, the results of following the “messages” I was receiving were effective and positive.

Although I still deal with the effects of EDS, the guidance has helped me overcome many of my physical problems.

I’ve also learned to adapt and, most importantly, accept my limitations, thus allowing me to live a productive, prosperous, and satisfying life.

Whatever is happening is part of your journey

I truly believe that whatever you and I are going through and whatever we have gone through is all part of what we need to become who we are becoming.

It is a journey, and each decade you live through presents new opportunities for self-growth and self-knowledge.

Many people have told me, “I have an inner voice, but I’m afraid to follow its guidance”

The guidance doesn’t always make logical sense. But what have you got to lose by following it?

If you do and you aren’t looking for instant and perfect results, you will be led to exactly what you need for your individual growth.

It is easier to take this journey by sharing your experiences with at least one other open-minded person. Connecting to others is an important part of the process so you can learn to feel connected and less alone.

The most important thing about the journey into your Self is that you learn to know, accept, and love yourself.

And the ultimate reward of doing this is peace of mind and prosperity, whatever that means for you.

The advantage of cultivating peace of mind is that it’s easier to create a successful business and life with confidence and inspiration rather than with stress, worry, and doubt.

As usual, some more priceless wisdom from Joan. She has the life experience and the wisdom to be a game changer, as she has already done for me. Joan is the real deal and I feel calmer than ever just thinking about her sage advice.
