Here we are, already at the end of January. Those lofty goals you so enthusiastically embraced have been subjected to the stark reality of life. I won't ask how they're going.
You've now determined the universe is conspiring against you. This sure isn't as easy as it looked on paper. In fact, the goal(s) probably seem more distant and overwhelming.
I used to get so frustrated with the amount of effort, energy and time required to achieve a goal I would give up, right about now. It ended up being quite demoralizing.
Then I realized I was looking at this from the wrong perspective. What if I gave up the goal and focused instead on the activity required to achieve it? Would that make a difference?
Does 7 minutes a day of ab exercises, 12 minutes a day of cold calling, 20 minutes a day of running or 25 minutes a day of reading sound doable? It does. And it works for me.
P.S.: for those of you following my 30-day ab program. I'm now on day 24. No excuses, no free passes, just doing the work every day. That's my fitness plan.
P.P.S.: I have same attitude and plan for professional development , business development and personal areas.
This week's tip: Stop looking at your goal. Make it your mission to embrace the process of accomplishing the daily activities that lead you there. Completing a marathon is the accumulated result of daily runs and weekly mileage built over six months. I know. I did it.
