Much has been written about the power of mentoring within organizations (Forbes, no thanks for your paywall). There are several companies dedicated to mentoring programs to help employees grow and succeed - and why mentoring matters. And feedback matters too.?
In Kindling the fire: The power of mentorship, the authors note, "At the heart of every mentor-mentee dynamic is a personal relationship defined by trust. Trust may be defined as 'choosing to risk making something you value vulnerable to another person’s actions.' Trust is built through an amalgam of honesty, vulnerability, and consistency."
So... here's the trust part
In the Integral Index | Third Edition, we found those who said they felt “mostly” or “completely” aligned with their employer’s values were significantly more likely to say their colleagues would go the extra mile for a colleague or client (82% vs. 54%) or mentor (76% vs. 48%). Yes. A complicated equation.

What's AI got to do with anything??
Employees who believe that new technology will help their company succeed, and help them do their jobs better, are probably right. Being skilled on the latest tools will also make them more marketable. This year's Index found that 60% of this year's participants say their organization has adopted new digital tools, with 21% being generative AI tools.?
