Trust in the Lord
God Morning Everyone,
Proverbs 3:5-6 (TPT) says; "Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart, rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. 6 Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go." The KJV says; 'lean not unto thine own understanding." I love what TPT says, though. Your understanding is a good thing, but many times we see or read a matter and form our own opinions rather than "search out a matter" as Proverbs 25:2 tells us to do.
Webster's 1828 Dictionary says of an opinion; "OPINION is when the assent of the understanding is so far gained by evidence of probability, that it rather inclines to one persuasion than to another, yet not without a mixture of uncertainty or doubting. As a child of the Living God, though, when we read the Word, pray about what it means (Jesus will tell you, point blank), and follow through with faith and believing, God will direct our paths to total understanding and victory.
One of my absolute favorite passages is Psalms 37:3-6 (AMP). That's not totally true. My favorite passage is the One the Lord gives me whenever I enquire about a particular problem. Anyway, this One says; "Trust (lean on, rely on, and be confident) in the Lord and do good; so shall you dwell in the land and feed surely on His faithfulness, and truly you shall be fed. 4 Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the Lord [roll and repose each care of your load on Him]; trust (lean on, rely on, and be confident) also in Him and He will bring it to pass. 6 And He will make your uprightness and right standing with God go forth as the light, and your justice and right as [the shining sun of] the noonday."
The (TPT) says; "Keep trusting in the Lord and do what is right in his eyes. Fix your heart on the promises of God, and you will dwell in the land, feasting on his faithfulness. 4 Find your delight and true pleasure in Yahweh, and he will give you what you desire the most. 5 Give God the right to direct your life, and as you trust him along the way, you’ll find he pulled it off perfectly! 6 He will appear as your righteousness, as sure as the dawning of a new day. He will manifest as your justice, as sure and strong as the noonday sun."
What a glorious picture of the Christian walk and life IN JESUS!!!!! The path to this wonderful life is this; Get right with God (get Saved), join a local Church that preaches the uncompromised Word of God, READ THE WORD and study, pray the Word and ask the Lord for discernment, DO WHAT GOD SAYS ABOUT EVERYTHING, then reap the benefits when we do the whole package and stay within His will.
Our opinion DOES NOT MATTER!!!! We were created by Father God and are His to command. When we do, though, OH THE GLORY OF HIS PRESENCE and the victory in every area of life that comes. "Trust in the Lord AND DO GOOD." Do His will, follow His directions in everything, and allow Him total access to every part of our lives. As we do this, we will have VICTORY IN JESUS ALL THE TIME AND IN EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE.
My encouragement to you, today, is to follow the direction of Proverbs 3:5-6 and Psalms 37:3-6 (read the entire Psalm for clarity and more direction). The NKJV says of this Psalm; "The Heritage of the Righteous and the Calamity of the Wicked." As we "Trust (lean on, rely on, and be confident) in the Lord and do good", our lives will be one of one victory after another and we will see our enemies fall and be no more. Even if they seem to prosper for a time, their end is destruction and a path to Hell.
This is why the Lord encourages us to "love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you", in Matthew 5:44. No one needs to go to Hell!!!!! It's a horrible place meant for the devil and his demons, not mankind.
Love in Jesus,
David
