Integrity is in a way very costly thing to maintain, requires boldness, needs mental strength, ability to withstand tsunamis in your career and you should keep large lock on your mouth. It's like being happy with what you have got and follow certain rules and regulations without any compromise. You should believe in yourself and on your capabilities. You should not have fear or do any thing which causes fear.
What is integrity after all ? it is nothing but maintaining fair and frank business deals. Never ever try to look the company which is giving us food and salary. Never try to act a loyal and plan to kill some one's career. Never befriend some one for ulterior motives. Never ever undermine some one's development, never take bribe from a poor and helpless person - take from a politician or some one offering you without asking. Go that extra mile when you approve a bill of a needy person, work an extra hour to bring some profits for the organisation, and when some thing wrong is being done in your presence, just try and stop it.
Compassion is a form of love. I always had great compassion and empathy for everyone but myself. I had an experience about 10 years ago that changed that, but I don’t want to write about it publicly. Suffice it to say that I realised that nobody, not even myself, had any compassion whatsoever for me. I was expending all of my empathy and compassion on others (who apparently didn’t care about me) and on causes outside of myself. The experience I had changed that. Today there is only one person who has compassion for me, and that’s me.
The way I practice compassion for myself today.. well, first of all, to practice compassion for yourself, you have to know what you need. What I need is not going to be the same as what someone else needs. Then you give yourself that. The big decisions that face us all globally are probably in the hands of the leaders of large business organisations.
When you look at the matrix in the graphic shown above you realise that all the four quadrants are interconnected in some way or the other. The top two quadrants are integrity and responsibility which are mainly functions of brain. Integrity: if these leaders want a workforce that trust them, integrity must be present and Responsibility: they might also want a workforce that is inspired to take personal responsibility for themselves and, possibly, the larger world.
Whereas the bottom two quadrants talk about things of heart, the way heart feels for other. Forgiveness: if you want a creative workforce, you must have forgiveness and Compassion: if you want to retain your workforce, you must have compassion. There seem to be areas of the brain dedicated to moral reasoning: We are born to be moral. if parenting/support is good enough, people will grow up to have the natural capacity to be moral.
Do we know as to how were the four universal principles chosen? What is the organisational impact of grounding the culture and leadership with the four universal principles? Is there any real evidence that “character based” businesses do better than ones that aren’t doing well? I would venture to say that the rule “follow your bliss” is the path of self-compassion.
That is how I got where I am now. To the best of my ability in any given moment, from the options I had available to myself, I would choose the one option that was most appealing or seemed most fun to me. This is how I got the life and circumstances I currently have. It has taken some years, but it has worked.
In order to be great leaders, they must have the necessary empathy to inspire understanding and knowledge in team members. Empathy is key here. Empathy begins with taking an understanding of life from the experience and perception of another. When empathy is present, defensiveness decreases and something positive replaces it.
Empathy opens doors and removes confusion. It softens the minds and hearts of others. When people are open, this is exactly when the compassionate leader can be more creative in solving problems in ways that drive productivity and long-term success. To follow are seven traits of compassionate leadership. Compassionate leaders understand that no matter how great they think they are, they are still surrounded by other intelligent people who are full of ideas that can enhance their skills and knowledge to lead even more effectively. stay blessed! #kishoreshintre
