Trust God’s Plan

Trust God’s Plan

To study at France has become my ultimate goal since I entered the University of Malaya. Since I was in my first year, I have been dreaming to visit the so-called romantic city of Paris. Since then, I studied like crazy just to make my dream become true. Trying to achieve dean’s list for every semester was not easy, yet I managed to do it. Like the saying, where there is a will, there is a way.

After 3 years of patiently waiting, I was ready to grab the opportunity. I have been preparing for almost one year to go for the double-degree programme at INALCO, France. I can still feel the excitement until now! I was supposed to pursue my study there in September 2020. However, a sudden outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic has totally crushed my dream. The university had to be closed due to the lockdown and did not accept any foreign students.

What else can I do? It is time to move on! Ranting about the situation won’t bring any good to me. Instead, I started to hunt for internship placements, and I submitted a handful of applications to several French-related companies, sadly they did not offer any internship opportunity due to the pandemic. Then, I applied for several companies near to my place which one of them was Cosco Shipping Malaysia. Not to mention, Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad (BPMB) was also on the list. I just tried my luck and did not put any high hope for it. Well, they both were big companies.

Still, no one can predict the future, right? Alhamdulillah, I was offered to do the internship at both companies at the same time! It was indeed a blessing! However, I had to reject the application from Cosco Shipping as I was curious to know how a bank works. Thereafter, 7th September 2020 was the first time I had set foot at BPMB to embark on my internship journey…

Hence, what can we learn from my journey above?

What I want to highlight here and now is to always trust Allah’s plan. He knows better than us and His plan is always the best! Yes, no one knows what the future holds. Even though I couldn’t go to France, Allah has granted me a chance to experience the industrial training at BPMB, the oldest Development Financial Institution in Malaysia! It’s fair enough!

Indeed. I couldn't agree more. We plan but Allah is the best planner. Enjoy your time with BPMB & learn & acquire knowledge as much as possible.

Waaah, you are such an excellent student with tons of potential! It is such a good thing that we could see a different side of coin when our situation does not come to meet our expectations. Whatever it is, keep on working and striving, then good things will come!
