Trump White House EPA cuts are coming into focus!
Rule “freezes” are nothing new when the White House changes hands …
… but the Trump administration’s halt on recent regs could be a whole new ball game.
For one thing, the President promised business leaders an overall 75% reduction in regs – whether that’s a realistic goal or not remains to be seen.
And the DC?rumor mill says Trump and EPA head Scott Pruitt may want to slash the agency’s budget by (gulp) $800 million.
While EPA’s budgets and staffing have been declining steadily for six years, a cut that big would make ambitious regs unlikely for the time being.
Not wasting any time
Four climate change regs the Energy Department nearly wrapped up are a goner.
Manufacturers likely won’t have to make portable air conditioners or commercial boilers more energy efficient due to the reg freeze.
