Missouri is the first state to regulate the word "meat," ruling that lab-grown "meats" and vegetable alternatives can't use the word. Producers can be fined for "misrepresenting a product as meat that is not derived from harvested production livestock or poultry." The Missouri Cattlemen’s Association argued the term confused shoppers and harmed ranchers. Earlier this week, the maker of Tofurky filed a lawsuit in the state seeking to block the regulation and continue using "meat nomenclature" like "sausage" and "hot dogs." ? Maybe we should let drywall makers call drywall apples.... makes as much sense as calling Tofurkey meat.?

How about addressing the product of US on the real meat in the counter, we feed our children and families? Does anyone know that meat is imported and re-labeled as US product? It actually is from other unregulated countries, that allow hormones and antibiotics to get them shipped and arrive alive to be butchered here, thus packaging is kinda correct. But certainty not US beef. Nor is the repackaged pre butchered beef. Regulations and petitions need to be expedited. Let alone lab meat are you kidding me!! Yuck

That sweet cow...to kill such a beautiful creature with feelings, for a sandwich.....who is the more advanced being? Diposable thumbs aren't everything. They attach to other cows and cry when the are shipped off to slaughter. A former farmer quit after observing their care for each other. Except for the obvious language fantasy, Charlotte's Web, is truer than we are comfortable believing.
