Trump is openly signaling he is to be Putin's ally if he "wins" 2024. This is a violation of the POTUS oath of office to defend the US constitution

quote

"Remember in Helsinki when a 3rd rate reporter asked me, essentially, who I trusted more, President Putin of Russia, or our 'Intelligence' lowlifes," he wrote. "My instinct at the time was that we had really bad people in the form of James Comey, McCabe (whose wife was being helped out by Crooked Hillary while Crooked was under investigation!), Brennan, Peter Strzok (whose wife is at the SEC) & his lover, Lisa Page. Now add McGonigal & other slime to the list. Who would you choose, Putin or these Misfits?"

end of quote

Aside from this being a signal he would torpedo the oath of office against all enemies Domestic and foreign, the other issue is this

Trump certainly is right there have been slime balls in the US IC. No question of it.

The quote he made is either an intent to be an open Putin ally, or a level of incomprehension of basic facts which ALSO is disqualifying from the highest US office

I well remember Aldrich Ames as a fall out of the CIA. Ames and his lover Rosario and the unimaginable CLUSTER **** of him buying a HOUSE in the mid 1980s for about 547 THOUSAND ( 1980s) USD

In spite of this AMES beat the POLYGRAPH two times

Question for TRUMP , would AMES be reason to TRUST Putin ?

I double dare Trump to answer this one

Again, it is either a level of INCOMPREHENSION of the basic facts needed to be POTUS, or a willingness to be a DIRECT ally of the most dangerous opponent the USA has in the world today bar NONE

quote

This is the US oath of office for the POTUS

Article II, Section 1, Clause 8:

Before he enter on the Execution of his Office, he shall take the following Oath or Affirmation:–I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

end of quote

The adage to defend the US Constitution against all enemies domestic and foreign is a living brief as to what would be expected from Article II, Section 1, Clause 8

This is not a gimmie.

Kremlin photos of Putin and Trump

Former?President Donald Trump?in 2018 had an?infamous press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin?in the Finnish capital of Helsinki in which he signaled that believed Putin's denials about having interfered in the 2016 election despite assessments to the contrary from American intelligence agencies.

Four-and-a-half years later, Trump is now touting his trust of Putin over American intelligence agencies as a source of pride.

In?a post on his Truth Social account, the former president attacked former officials at the FBI and CIA whom he accused of trying to undermine his presidency by investigating his campaign's multiple contacts with Russian agents during the 2016 presidential race.

Trump has repeatedly heaped praise on Putin over the years, and?even called him a "genius" last year?after he launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine that has faced multiple setbacks over the past 11 months while costing the lives of tens of thousands of Ukrainians.

ArtII.S1.C8.1 Oath of Office for the Presidency

Article II, Section 1, Clause 8:

Before he enter on the Execution of his Office, he shall take the following Oath or Affirmation:–I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

What is the time relationship between a President’s assumption of office and his taking the oath? Apparently, the former comes first, this answer appearing to be the assumption of the language of the clause. The Second Congress assumed that President George Washington took office on March 4, 1789,1?although he did not take the oath until the following April 30.

That the oath the President is required to take might be considered to add anything to the powers of the President, because of his obligation to?preserve, protect and defend the Constitution,?might appear to be rather a fanciful idea. But in President Andrew Jackson’s message announcing his veto of the act renewing the Bank of the United States there is language which suggests that the President has the right to refuse to enforce both statutes and judicial decisions based on his own independent decision that they were unwarranted by the Constitution.2?The idea next turned up in a message by President Abraham Lincoln justifying his suspension of the writ of habeas corpus without obtaining congressional authorization.3?And counsel to President Andrew Johnson during his impeachment trial adverted to the theory, but only in passing.4?Beyond these isolated instances, it does not appear to be seriously contended that the oath adds anything to the President’s powers.
