Trump jeopardizes GOP’s chances
The Republican party is only 5 seats shy of a majority in the House of Representatives, and they feel so confident about overturning the current Democratic dominance in the lower chamber that they have listed 70 targets when looking up to the November midterm elections.?
And then, this happened.
Former President Trump floated a return, and a pardon for the January 6, 2021, rioters in the US Capitol.
Despite Republican top leaders, like Mitch McConnell, distancing himself of such proposition, Trump’s gamble jeopardizes a few seats for the conservative movement come November. Their winning at the House is beyond doubt, according to several polls and the overall sentiment against the party in power, a historic trend in midterm elections.?
But flirting with bringing back the rancor associated with the 2020 electoral recount will only harm the GOP’s chances to reach a historic win. Trump must make up his mind. It′s either finding a different way to confront his legal issues or bringing down the conservative movement with him.?
