Trump Announces U.S Crypto Reserve

Donald Trump announced plans to launch a U.S. crypto strategic reserve, which will include XRP, SOL and ADA alongside BTC and ETH. Following the Sunday announcement, the chosen assets saw price surges, which have since retraced to pre-announcement levels and lower due to new international tariffs being announced by the U.S President.?

Saying "I will make sure the U.S. is the Crypto Capital of the World," Trump has since come under fire for his role in affecting price movements within the space and that his choice of assets for the reserve was misguided.

Elsewhere, Bybit CEO Ben Zhou said that 20% of the stolen $1.4 billion worth of assets absconded from his exchange have "gone dark," with the remaining 80% either traceable or frozen. The hackers, believed to be the North Korean group Lazarus, used a multitude of methods, including sending to non-KYC exchanges and swapping to Bitcoin to make the funds effectively untraceable. The exchange lost around 400,000 ETH in the hack.

Finally, Hyperliquid, A decentralized exchange (DEX), briefly overtook Pump.Fun, Jupiter and UniSwap to become the third highest DeFi revenue generator behind stablecoin issuers Tether and Circle. Following a drop in prices and increased on-chain trading, it has since moved back to sixth place in the rankings, with Jupiter, the leading aggregator for meme coin trading, taking its place in third.
