Networking, and all aspects of it are very much on my mind at the moment, especially in the lead up to the launch of my upcoming #WomenInBusinessNetwork groups .
In today's interconnected world, networking has become more than just a buzzword—it's a key asset for personal and professional growth. But how do you put a price on the value of networking?
For many, the benefits are clear: the exchange of ideas, access to opportunities, and the support from like-minded professionals can significantly boost one's career. Yet, the true value of networking often goes far beyond the tangible. It's about building relationships that foster trust, collaboration, and learning. I find this is more true amongst women only networks.
We often think of networking as attending events, collecting business cards, or sending LinkedIn requests. But it's also about the deeper connections we make—the mentors who guide us, the peers who challenge us, and the partnerships that open doors we didn’t know existed. In this sense, networking is an investment, and like any investment, it requires time, energy, and commitment.
So, how do you measure the return on this investment? It’s not always easy. Some connections yield immediate rewards—perhaps a job offer or a new client. Others may take years to bear fruit. But every interaction adds value, whether it’s broadening your perspective, developing new skills, or simply expanding your professional circle.

As you continue to grow your network, maybe take a moment to reflect on how you approach it. Are you nurturing long-term relationships, or focusing on short-term gains? Do you offer value to others in return?
Ultimately, the price you put on networking isn’t about immediate returns. It’s about understanding the power of relationships to shape your future. And that, in itself, is priceless.
