Paychex Year End Q&A

Tax season is just right around the corner and it made me start to wonder, what does this time of year mean for our employees?  I had the privilege of sitting down with one of my regional branch managers to discuss what Year End exactly looks like here at Paychex.

Here are the two questions I asked:

What does Year End mean to you? Oh Year-End, sweet, sweet Year-End.  In the payroll world, it might be the most feared time of the year.  But what does Year-End mean to us?  Year-End means bonus checks that make you envious, fringe benefits that make your head hurt, PQAs, amended returns, delivery issues, and so on and so on.  It’s basically a mixture of every possible scenario all at once!  Heavy payroll schedules that make for long days, W2 question after question after question, high queue call volumes, overall a very high work volume.

What is the best part of Year End? Year-End is a time of year where you get to see all your hard work payoff.  You see the newer specialists rising to the occasion and putting all those training hours to work.  It is also a time of year where our teams come together and persevere.  Where our managers and supervisors look around the floor beaming with pride for our team.  Where co-workers show each other kindness day in and day out.  Those are the things we love.  And those are the stories we share that make people come back for more year after year. 

We take Year End very seriously as we are dealing with the livelihood of our clients’ employees!  Every year, our employees & managers step up to the plate and work together as a team to get the job done for our clients!
