The “true love” Entry

Hello everyone?

Happy Sunday and a very Happy Easter to all who celebrate.?

I hope we all had an amazing week.

Easter is probably my favorite holiday and it’s because I’m reminded of the greatest sacrifice done for me.?

The purest form of love.

Someone told me once that I will never find true love in someone that does not love God. At the point, I did not understand but I think I understand now.?

Jesus' coming to earth answers it all.?

What love is that? That one would leave the comfort of heaven to come to earth to live among humans? To move from place to place preaching the word?

1 Corinthians 13: 4-7 describes love as patient and kind, not jealous or boastful, not arrogant or rude, as not insisting in its own ways, not irritable or resentful, not rejoicing in wrong but always rejoicing in right. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is ever hopeful, and endures every circumstance?

As humans, it’s not easy to tick all these boxes. How would we be patient all the time? It’s very hard, but we see Jesus in the Bible being patient with his disciples. Using several parables to explain one lesson so they could understand.?

We see Jesus be kind enough to not want to see people sick. All the healings and deliverances were done from a kind heart. We see Jesus not act in jealousy. Even as the son of God, he walked with people "less" than him. He called disciples that would normally not be accepted by the Pharisees. A zealot, a tax collector, fishermen, and people that were previously tormented by devils. Jesus never used their pasts against them. They called them all together, rescued them, and made them his own.?

Even when he cried in the garden of Gethsemane asking God to let the cup pass over him, he eventually allowed God’s will to be done. He never insisted on his own ways. He always called out wrong and emphasized right.

Easter reminds me of what exactly I have been redeemed into. The love that was not only shown years ago but is still in expression today.

Love that has covered all my sins and made me his own. I pray to not only know that love but to be transformed into love.?

To not only love like this but to become that love and spread it to everyone I meet.?

That’s what the gospel is. A reminder of that love.

This is what we are to tell the world. That no matter who you are, no matter what you have done, and regardless of your status or race, you are loved. You will always be loved.

Being a Christian is not doing things for Jesus to love you. He already does. Being a Christian is accepting that love and spreading it as far as you can.?

So yes, I understand now. Knowing this true love is the only way I can love properly and be loved.

That’s what makes Easter so exciting for me.

I hope that all that celebrate this amazing season remember to tap into that love today. Enjoy your celebrations.
