When we think about a true leader the image created in our mind is of - a man of principles, truthful, honest and ethical in conduct.
During the pandemic most of the organizations have come under financial distress & are looking for short term success (solution) which as per them is survival of the fittest.
There comes a situation when the leader has to make a choice between loyalty, fame, truth & honesty as his task is filled with contradictions (end of the day he has to make money for the organization/shareholder, in order to survive).
The decision taken during these tough times plays a major role on the future of the organization. If the leader succumbs to the external factors he ends up on the mission, vision and value of the Organization.
“Short term gain is long term loss”, hence better to balance short term by focusing the long term goal.
A leader should look into his performance & not wait for the company to get into trouble.
“A stitch in time saves nine”.
The leader needs to think what different would they do, had it been their first day in that position.
A true leader needs to revaluate his strategies & current approach and re-energize himself to face the challenges ahead.
