True Happiness is an Inside Job...

True Happiness is an Inside Job...

There will be some people out there who will doubt my sincerity when I say I am happier now than at any other time in my life.?

?

For some, they will look at my situation and compare it to what once was and think, "There is no way he is being honest when he says he is happier now."?

?

And it's a fair argument.?

?

After all, I once had everything you could want in life: a big house, a close loving family, all the support and love you could imagine, a good job, money, a nice car, a stunning girl on my arm.?

?

On the surface, I had it all. The perfect image of success!

?

Compare that to now: I live on my own, I no longer have the big house, expensive car, and money I once took for granted.?

?

So naturally, it's normal for people to assume I would be less happy now. Especially when you take into consideration the extreme losses I have encountered such as the tragic loss of my family. Whilst incarcerated in prison at the time.?

?

However, the reality is the opposite.?

?

I am happier within myself than I was back then.?

?

And it is very simple to explain why: I now find happiness from within, whereas before, it would come from what I had.?

?

Instead of finding that joy and happiness in the external, I now cultivate it internally.

?

The truth is, there are so many people out there who, on the surface, have more than I do, but many will lack what I have internally.?

?

And that is complete peace of mind and a feeling of joy and presence in the moment each and every day.?

?

Life isn't about what we have; it is about how we feel.?

?

We are programmed to believe it is about external achievement. And yes, those things do make life easier to a degree.?

?

But what is the point of external achievement if you lack internal success to go alongside it?

?

This weekend highlighted that in two separate encounters for me.?

?

I was chatting with the decorator here in my rented property in Berkhamsted. He told me the landlord who owns this house had a huge mansion with a swimming pool and loads of sports cars. However, he never uses them.?

?

He told me that the guy is always miserable, depressed, or stressed. And yet on the surface, he has it all.?

?

But he lacks internal wealth.

?

Then, on Saturday, I went for a walk along the high street to enjoy the weather and simply be in the moment when I bumped into a guy who is friends with a mate of mine.?

?

He owns a successful recruitment business and lives an affluent lifestyle. When I asked how he was, he replied that he was struggling after his break-up with his ex.?

?

For some time, he had been in an unhappy relationship, which had drained his confidence. Again, outwardly successful, but internally struggling.

?

The moral is that real happiness is created by us internally.?

?

I used to think I was happy when I had external wealth, but I wasn't.?

?

My behaviours and actions demonstrated that.?

?

I was involved in fighting and drug abuse most of that time. And underneath the exterior image, I was very unhappy.?

?

It has only been through learning how to understand my own mind and emotions and working to create a much more balanced and conscious way of being that I have now reached a stage where my happiness is determined solely by me and how I think.?

?

I choose how I want to feel every day, and it is not influenced by my external circumstances.

?

Do not be deceived; the real luxuries in this life are things like inner peace, a healthy balanced emotional well-being, good mental and physical health, true friends, knowing your true worth, and being able to be your authentic self.?

?

These are the things which bring quality to your existence.?

?

When you learn and practice the same methodology and way of being that I use myself, you can achieve this too.?

?

Get in touch to learn more about that.ay he is being honest when he says he is happier now."?

Only our inner selves can tell us what we really need and want.

Yes, 100% agree Marc Singer Coaching. This is the way I live my life. For some it all depends on what they are putting their security in or whom and when the challenges come BAM! inner peace gone, joy gone, happiness gone.
