Is it True … Can you Change Your Life in a Few Simple Steps?

Is it True … Can you Change Your Life in a Few Simple Steps?

Are you discouraged? Do you lack inspiration and clear purpose. Are you working too hard and getting little to show for it?

The promise of following a few simple steps to change your Life Trend seems attractive. You can find these steps everywhere on the internet, Facebook, and other social media platforms. TRUTHS such as:

  • Find Your Why – what truly drives you?
  • Set Goals – align personal goals with career goals!
  • Seek Input from Others – feedback from trusted individuals.
  • Find Your Passions – provide a sense of accomplishment.
  • Network with Purpose - find like-minded individuals who encourage and motivate you.
  • Check-in with Self - frequently assess your job satisfaction.

All good and helpful advice but lacking one little important thing … How do you do them! How do you go about finding your “Why”, setting goals, seeking input, finding your passion, network, or check-in? You can also find “experts” that will help you in each of these areas, and many more? Consultants, life coaches, advisors, and average people who have followed someone’s advice and made thousands of dollars in writing and self-publishing, listing things on Market Place, or you name the method.

Don't just put in your time, invest your time. Let someone else do the work. It only takes a few minutes a day. You make money while you sleep. You can do it from anywhere with a laptop and an internet connection, and the promises go on, and on.

Do I sound a little bit skeptical?

There are some people that offer great advice and can help you define and achieve your goals. I know and respect them. They have life experiences and proven processes that work. I follow several on LinkedIn, have attended their seminars and workshops, and read their posts and books.

The challenge is, as it is in so many things we encounter, who do we believe? Who can we trust? Determining which experts and coaches to trust and believe can be tricky, but there are several ways to assess their credibility and effectiveness. Here are some key factors to consider:

  • Credentials & Experience – certifications from respected organizations or other documented qualifications. Do they have real world experience, a track record, or a professional background in the field of interest?
  • Reputation – what have you heard about them? Is there reliable testimony from people you know and trust?
  • Transparency – are they willing to share their methods and approaches or do you have to pay up front to receive training or advice? How honest are they, do they admit their shortcomings and faults?
  • Alignment – is there a fit with your values? Are they authentic, passionate about helping others?
  • Results and Track Record – can they show measurable, authentic results, tangible results? Have they maintained consistent results over time? – do they exercise integrity and maintain high standards? Are their promises too good to be true or realistic and verifiable?

Ultimately, trust your gut, your instincts. Trust is built over time and is an ongoing process built upon TRUUTH. ?Keep questioning, researching, and listening to your own experiences to figure out if they are the right fit for you. Unfortunately, there are many unethical and dishonest people in the world that will take advantage of you by saying things you want to hear and believe. ?

In the end, there is only OneTRUTH we can count upon! Trust God who wants the best for you and will provide for all your needs, even in the worse of all circumstances. He will put people, the right people in your path if you allow Him!
