After the game at the Commonwealth Stadium (Edmonton, Alberta), Willie Jefferson, Blue Bomber No. 5, came to the bleachers, shook hands and “High Fived” with the fans.
My brother-in-law, Garner, is definitely “True Blue” lifelong Blue Bombers fan. He remembers watching Brian Herosian (recognized as the best Safety in the league) and Jay Washington (recognized as the best Running Back in the league). He wears Blue Bomber Team Jersey No. 35, Tyrone Jones.
Garner says that he used “The Force” to convert his wife Marla from the “Dark Side”. She had previously been a “Stamps” fan. (Calgary Stampeders)?
I found a reference to the “Dark Side” an interesting comment. Dwayne Douglas Johnson, the Rock, credits his high school football coach with helping inspire transformational changes in his life.?Johnson aspired to play professional football and signed with the?Calgary Stampeders?of the?Canadian Football League?but was cut from the team in his first season.
While Garner would love to attend a Bomber’s game in Winnipeg and especially a Grey Cup, his dedication, passion and commitment to coaching high school football has been a priority. I can understand Garner’s and Marla’s passions for this sport and others. It helps build character through personal and team development challenges. One learns traits such as grit, resilience, self-discipline, leadership, accountability, respect, tolerance and patience. Among other values are life skills related to mental, emotional and behavioral attributes that drive performance in achievement activities, i.e., states of well-being, safety and health.

In the end . . . What really matters?
Character, competence and integrity.
It's how the game is played that creates "WINS" for both.

2 年One of the interesting stats is that the Argos when playing in the West for the Gray Cup have won it 6 times since 1991. The potential is for their 7th. As understood, the Blue Bombers are going for their third consecutive Grey Cup. If they succeed in today's event, shall this become known as the perfect 6?
