Truck Focus - Industry Leaders Introductions January 2022

Our mission at Truck Focus is simple - to connect transportation industry leaders, to the industry, to help create a pivotal change.

I believe it is important to uplift our industry leaders that are creating a pivotal impact in the lives of those operating within the transportation industry so that they can ultimately be of service to you and your organizations if and when you are in need.

As our industry continues to accept various technologies and integrate systems into our day to day operations, it is crucial that we trust the organizations that offer these services. Carrier compliance is one area that can have incredible benefits by integrating trusted systems into our organizations, which is why I am a proud advocate of?ComplianceBox.

As we approach mid-January, 2022, it is no secret that we continue to experience various challenges within the supply chain. As the late Napoleon Hill stated, “every problem comes with an equal or greater opportunity.” One of the struggles within the supply chain are not enough carriers capable of hauling the number of products required to be transported.

Because of this problem, a number of professional drivers have since started their own trucking company’s. This is an exciting opportunity for these new company’s, but they need to ensure they have the correct insurance protection in place from the get go. Todd Goulet, Commercial Lines Account Executive at Leibel Insurance Group shares his knowledge in his recent article that was shared in the January 2022 Edition of the Truck Focus Newsletter.

With a focus on Health, Safety, Wellness, & Driver Solutions, the Mindful Trucker is creating a pivotal impact in the lives of many in the transportation industry. Recently, the Mindful Trucker joined myself (Josh) and an incredible hero Kim Kerrivan on the Truck Focus Podcast to highlight the efforts Kim and other amazing volunteers put forth to assist over 150 stranded professional drivers at the ferry dock in Placentia, Newfoundland. I think we can all agree, protecting our employees is one of the most important responsibilities we owe to each other. Regardless of job title or job duty, doing our part to protect our fellow person is a crucial duty that we all need to stay focused on.

One form of protection that is often overlooked, or sometimes missed because we are simply too busy, is having a plan in place in the event an injury occurs in the workplace and understanding how to manage the claim properly. My encouragement to you as we finish out the month of January is to have a clear vision of what it is you would like to accomplish in the next couple of weeks; create a detailed plan, and execute the plan each and every day.
