TRRS Celebrates World Literacy Day

The Roman Ridge School joined in the international community to celebration of World Literacy Day on 8 September 2022. The day’s events focused on the various benefits of strong reading skills, comprehension, writing, speaking and listening skills, to develop personally & professionally in order to contribute meaningfully to one's community as a future leader.?

This year, pupils engaged in a variety of activities and performances around the theme Transforming Literacy Learning Spaces, amid colourful displays of vibrant pupil artwork, showcasing their favourite books & stories and promoting the joy of reading across the entire school.?

Reception & Class 1 pupils enjoyed an exciting and interactive digital storytelling session of classic children’s books The Cat in the Hat (by Dr. Seuss) and Alfie in the Garden (by Debi Gliori) led by the Principal, Mrs. Valerie Mainoo, and the Head of the Junior School, Ms. Gloria Dakwa.

Pupils took to the stage to showcase Literacy in Motion; performing an array of original poetry, monologues, speeches, dramatic skits, song performances and staging a live newscast.??

Sincere appreciation to our dynamic English Department for organising a much-enjoyed World Literacy Day 2022 celebration!
