This one's a no-brainer.. We all have 24 hours in a day , though perhaps not the same number of days in each of our lives ! And yes, "today" is what we truly have, not because someone as great as Buddha is known to have said that we make a mistake when we think we have enough time, but more, because,
when we give a piece of our own self and our time to futile stuff, we take away that much of our precious self and invaluable time and energy , from something else – that something, which is much more worthy and more important in our life and of others’,and that which genuinely deserves our Focus and Attention !
So what, - it’s never too late, - yes it isn’t but when ? - only and only when we have truly imbibed the learnings ,- else the endless cycle of always doing the unimportant , doing all that doesn’t matter to our well being or of others, and regretting the missed opportunities, blaming all and sundry continues..on and on and on....
So, do we have time- yes, we do or at least we have some time.., and there aren’t that many things we need to give our attention to- spouse, children, work, health, community life, hobbies, travel, people in need… Oh, now, it seems like a lot, but hold on, perhaps not so much when we look at the other big lot that some of us actually do attend to, day in and day out..and which can be done without !
When you cut out the daily social media tweets and trolls, heated religious and political debates, celebrity gossip, judging our colleagues , our neighbors, worrying about day trading and bills overdue, musing on what everyone thinks of you, testing how big your envy is, shopping for stuff you don’t need, being pissed off over someone overtaking you in traffic, extending meetings without the need to, oversleeping, ruminating over everything someone did wrong..
... The list goes on., and now that’s indeed a lot !!!
Well, for all that matters and on a truly optimistic note, assuming that we indeed have all the time in the world..- its still good to become aware that there is one more flip side to not acting well on time and not focusing on the right things.
And that happens to be the fact that ideas and inspiration flash only for some small instances of time and disappear the moment we choose to ignore them, not action or not record them..
And whew , maybe some one else felt the same pang a little bit more and acted before you.., -you never know where it takes him .. ; while on the other hand, not understanding your own worth and that of your time and energy keeps you stuck and craving …- remaining content with whatever fate decides to hand you …
By not giving the attention and deep work your inner gifts deserve, you are forgetting your own greatness and choosing to neglect your own unique capabilities towards that something amazing you were born to do. Maybe you’re not even 100% sure of what it is yet – but you do know that the key to creating it, lies in undivided focus and action on the truly valuable stuff..
So the message is short, cut the crap, and focus on what’s important !!
Spend your time ''acting'' to create your ideal life, and ''not reacting" to all the buses you may have missed..
Don’t let your life remain an endless cycle of “what could have been.”
#Cut the clutter.. #Sort the valuable from the worthless .. #Understand What truly Matters..
What do you plan to do "Today " ?

4 年Great post Namita... So true... ideas and inspirations come across in just a flash and if we don't pay attention, we miss a potential great opportunity! Love it when you say... Spend your time ''acting'' to create your ideal life, and ''not reacting" to all the buses you may have missed... As Ralph Waldo Emerson said?“Guard well your spare moments. They are like uncut diamonds. Discard them and their value will never be known. Improve them and they will become the brightest gems in a useful life.”
Most of us thinks we have lot of time and got trapped in the midst of clutters, we are unable to prioritise and thinking everything is important. You have articulated in few lines. Worth of reading..

5 年Such a great piece of meaningful information - focus and attention can only work if you really know what you want/ desire. I have seen half the time the clutter in my head is also out of confusion and I really have to take time to reflect on my higher purpose and realign my actions to match that and when that happens focus comes around and I am 100 percent attentive. Know thyself and what you want from life and then go behind it. Great one coach Namita Sinha ????
