Trouble don't last always!

Top of the weekend my friends! Trouble don't last always! Sometimes it is preparing you for something greater. I don't know who I'm talking to but listen it ain't over!

My guess is that for some of you times aren't very good right now. Trust in the LORD lean not to your own understanding acknowledge Him in all your ways and HE will direct your path! That's a promise!!

Here's a page from my life story, from 1985 to around 1989 I was in between engagements. Also known as out of work! Needless to say my saving vanished. By 1987 my bank account had 13 cents in it. I laughed because "it cost them more to send me that notice than what was in the account". To say I prayed a lot is an understatement.

There were times when I whined or complained about it. During one of my woe is me moments. My cousin Sandra said one of the most convicting things I've ever heard. Her comment "I have never met anybody who was out of work 5 years and don't lose anything!!

Someone who is reading these words need to count your blessings one by one and remember what God has done! Hang in there and keep hope alive. Trouble don't last always!

Unbeknownst to me my miracle came when I was at my lowest point in life. One of the first national broadcast networks relocated to Texas. I believed it was around 1987. Texas John Tyler and Satellite Music Network opened up shop in North Dallas.They were already in every major radio market and when they hired me. So I had my "won't HE do it" happy dance. Fast forward that would lead to working for ABC Radio Networks and Westwood One for now a combined tenure of 30 years. Which included one of the best in between engagement jobs I've ever had. Doing sports with Norm Hitzges for nearly a decade..

Trouble don't last always

Historically this narrative appears in the first book included in the cannon we call the Bible. It's the story of “Job”. I don't think that was by chance. As "you know" sometimes bad things happen to good people. No trial you can go through would match the testing of Job! That brother had an awfully tough go of it and it wasn’t his fault but that's not how the story ends.

I love the Lord because he hears my prayers and answers them. Because He bends down and listens. I will pray as long as I breathe. (Psalm 116:1-2.)

To quote historiographer Henry C. Blinn, “Begin today! No matter how feeble the light, let it shine as best you can. The world may need just that quality of light which you have".

And from the brother who had the worst day known to mankind Job said. “I know that you can do all things; no plan of yours can be thwarted. My ears had heard you but now my eyes have seen you.”

May Adonai bless you and keep you, may El Shaddai’s face shine upon you and be gracious to you, may Jehovah Jireh lift up His countenance and give you peace. Jehovah Shalom donut leave home without it!
