The Trolls on Fridays live training!
Mark Firth
Founder - $ 3.2m | Helping Entrepreneurs Over 40 Win Clients - Even if they are competing against professional creators who already have an audience
Well, what an hour. For those that didn’t attend, we had 80 people on including a couple of people who decided to criticise everything I said from minute 1 and I mean EVERYTHING - professional trolls
I just want to share what I learned from the experience and how it affected me, and how I deal with it
Here are my lessons
1. You can’t do anything in life without putting yourself out there to be shot down. As we have grown our business we have begin to experience this with much more frequency.
And I have learned something valuable through this - “Hurt people, hurt people’’ and serves are signposts we are heading in the right direction.
They gave up on their dream and want to pull someone else's down to compensate for it
If you are successful, by default, you become a target
2. I need to adjust my training to cover more mindset work - one of the things I see most often in our program is a reluctance to go on video, approach new people and generally put oneself out there - and today was a reminder for me as to why people experience this.
If you are experiencing a block, or reluctance to do something, then maybe it’s time to explore why?
For me, I was bullied at school and grew up in a family with a narcissistic father with the personality disorder - it’s always been a challenge to be brave enough to get out there and make change in the world and experiences like this are sometimes hard for me
If I can do it, anyone can
It's usually something really simple that needs to be adjusted and then people start flying
4. Did it effect my energy?
Energy is everything in a live training
Yes, I will be transparent, I think it did
I would like to say I’m made of granite and criticism washes over me without having any impact
But I'm also a human being and while a lot of it does - this was constantly on any screen and distracted me
I don’t think the end of the presentation was as good as it could of been
That said, we still had lots of people book calls, check the image
If you haven’t booked yet, please drop me a message and I will schedule you in and I’ll be happy to chat about LinkedIn or if you want, anything that maybe holding you back from being yourself online
Mindset really is everything and people are often holding back from being their real selves
Because of exactly the type of behaviour we saw on todays training
BUT
If the real 'you' isn't out there, how can you expect to attract the right ideal clients? They just don't know who you really are
Let's have a chat,
I promise to get you clear on what's holding you back from getting the results you want

5 å¹´I really liked your webinar and was disappointed (but not surprised) to see the trolls in full effect during it. But like you did as best you could, I ignored it because I really valued the insight & content you were providing.? One thing I've learned in recent history is the silent majority is not represented by the few that want to knock you off track. Stay the course, share your message and move forward!

5 å¹´Great job powering through Mark! It's easy to get hung up on trolls but your perspective of "hurt people hurt people" is a healthy one to have!

5 å¹´Mark Firth, ah, yes the trolls - gotta love them. You keep doing you. There's gonna be haters no matter what you do. I was there and witnessed it - it definitely made me realize who I won't be adding to my LinkedIn network :-)~
