Trolls and critics
Years back, I toyed with the idea of being a critic. Nothing against them, just that I didn't see myself making a living passing judgment about other people's work.
Good and genuine critics make the work better. Trolls on the other hand are a recent phenomenon. Social media and modern platforms allow anyone with skewed intentions to pass judgment. They aren't interested in making things better. They are only interested in spewing vitriol and bringing you down because they can.
It's easy to get confused between a well-meaning critic and a troll. We waste time proving the troll wrong and get sucked into their devilish dance. And trolls also exist offline. The teacher who made it their mission to find fault with everything you did and bust your confidence is also a troll in their own right.
If you seek to improve, find an honest critic.
