trivago was conceptualized in 2005 in Düsseldorf, Germany by 3 university friends:
Rolf Schr?mgens, Peter Vinnemeier and Stephan Stubner. Like most start-ups, the site’s first iteration was deployed from a garage. In 2006 Stephan decided to become a professor, so Malte Siewert joined the founding team. Today, our management board consists of CEO Rolf Schr?mgens, CFO Axel Hefer and COO Johannes Thomas.
The team is of over 1,200 creative and driven entrepreneurs, from all corners of the globe, wake up every day to build a hotel search that is straightforward, fast and unbiased.
After years of testing, iteration and development, trivago has developed into a powerful global brand inspired by a transparent and authentic culture, which impacts the quality and efficiency of our daily execution.
