The Triple Action Contradiction.
I want to help somebody today by sharing what I discovered some days ago. I need you to realize the damage you are incurring on your skin by using triple-action creams for an extended period –longer than a given prescription.
Triple action creams are lotions that treat a wide range of skin infections. These ointments are designed to heal conditions like rashes, acne, eczema, boils, etc. They contain ingredients with emollient, antifungal, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties –constituents capable of soothing, healing, and relieving all at once.
After an acne breakout or eczema flare, doctors’ prescriptions might include the use of these creams. Considering how effective and relatively fast they can be, impressive results show within a short period -especially when there is consistency in application.
So what exactly can go wrong??
Let’s start with the obvious fact.
First,?these creams are called medications?for a reason. If you were given a drug for a particular illness, do you continue taking the prescription after being declared alright? I don’t think so. The same goes for these creams.?
We easily forget they are like drugs because we feel drugs come as pills. In truth, these chemicals (in creams) also end up in our bloodstream and cells like pills.??
Lots of people keep using these medicated products even after they have worked and accomplished a purpose. Especially in Nigeria, where the tube creams are available over the counter. You discover many have converted them to regular (everyday) body/face lotion.?
Second fact. Have you ever gone through the ingredients of your acne-fighting/eczema-combating creams? When you do, you will realize some?contain topical corticosteroids. Examples include hydrocortisone, betamethasone, clobetasone, etc.?
Topical corticosteroids are synthetic and potent. They are a class of drugs that reduce inflammation such that their (guided) application yields benefits. You will find them at a 1% concentration or below in triple action creams.
Aside from being anti-inflammatory, this class of chemicals is also vasoconstrictive and immunosuppressive. Adverse effects occur after long-term use, leading to the following: permanent stretch marks, skin discoloration, skin atrophy (thinning), perioral dermatitis, skin bleaching, Cushing syndrome, facial hair growth, rosacea, high blood pressure, glaucoma, and withdrawal reactions (like sudden acne breakouts).?
Imagine all these.
Some people innocently hoped to keep their skin clear and radiant but ended up becoming recipients of these bad reactions. If they had known earlier, they most likely would have prevented the disaster. They would have stopped the cream as soon as the primary skin infection was gone.

Sequence?
What happens is, a person uses steroid creams for a while.
When they stop the cream, they experience worse breakouts than before.
Being unaware of what the real problem is, they go back to using those creams.
While this continued application might clear whatever resulted from the first stoppage, it will cause a worse reaction after the next one.
Such an individual keeps blaming every other skin product except the very one causing the problems.
It is good you now know; you can avoid these complications.??
So what do you do?
Like I have mentioned, except you have been given these products as a treatment, and their usage is under the quality supervision of your doctor, don’t use them. The longer you extend stopping their use, the stronger the withdrawal reactions you are at risk of experiencing. Other effective products in the market can alleviate your skin problems.
P.S: Corticosteroids are different from the anabolic steroids athletes abuse.
