Trip Introduction
Lhasa and Everest Base Camp Tour is an 8-day journey that begins and ends in Lhasa with a visit to the Everest base camp. It covers the beautiful Tibetan cities and towns of Lhasa, Gyantse, Shigatse and Rongbuk. While there, we visit popular landmarks like Dalai Lama’s Potala and Norbulingka Palaces, the Tibet Traditional Hospital, Barkhor Bazaar and Gyantse Dzong. We also cross several passes and visit the beautiful YamdrokTso Lake on our Lhasa and Everest Base Camp Tour. Impressive Tibetan monasteries like Sera, Drepung, Jokhang Temple, Khumbum Stupa, Phalkot, Tashilhunpho, Sakya and Rongbuk are ours to admire.

Outline Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Lhasa (3,650m/11,972ft)
Day 02: Lhasa sightseeing: Potala Palace, Norbulingka Palace and Tibet Traditional Hospital: 5 - 6 hours
Day 03: Lhasa Sightseeing: Sera Monastery, Drepung Monastery, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Bazaar: 5 - 6 hours
Day 04: Lhasa to Gyantse (3,950m/12,956ft): 5 - 6 hours
Day 05: Gyantse to Shigatse (3,900m/12,795 ft): 2 hours
Day 06: Shigatse to Rongbuk (5,000m/16,400ft) via Sakya: 8 - 9 hours
Day 07: Rongbuk to Lhasa with a visit to the Everest Base Camp: 9-10 hours
Day 08: Final Departure

We will be staying at Kyichu Hotel in Lhasa, Yeti Hotel in Gyantse, Gesar Hotel in Shigatse and Rongbuk Monastery Guest House in Rongbuk. It is also possible to upgrade to a better hotel in Lhasa, but the accommodations in other cities and towns are the best available ones. All accommodations are on a twin-shared basis. Single supplement will be served on request and will cost an additional US $ 320.
Meals
Only breakfasts are included in this trip. We are expected to pay for lunches and dinners on our own. Breakfast will be taken in the same place we stay for the night. Similar arrangements can also be made for dinner. Lunch will be taken en route to the next destination(s). We recommend our guest(s) to budget Yuan 60 to Yuan 100(US$10 to US$16) for lunch and dinner in a single day. We will mainly eat Tibetan bread, dal (lentil soup), bhat (rice), tsampa porridge and other simple local foods.
Best Time to Travel
Spring (April and May), summer (June, July and August) and autumn (September, October and November) are the best seasons for this Lhasa to Everest Base Camp to Lhasa Tour. We can also equally enjoy this trip during winter months, but it may get a bit cold.
