Trios & Tag Teams in general!

I will be the first to admit that I didn’t like the whole Trios tag teams when they first came out.?However, when they came out on Lucha Underground and they became mixed tag teams I took a nothing look and became more interested in it!

Fast forward to 2023

AEW has hit a powerful blow to the pre-wrestling sport. More so with the whole tag team world of wrestling.?Teams like the Elite, Top Flight with AR Fox, Lucha Brothers, and Mean of the Year.

However, with they’re newly version of Trios Tag Team is making huge waves. Teams like the House of Black and the Black Pool Combat Club.

Want to talk about these two teams for many different reasons. Both teams bring something new and different to the world of tag team wrestling.

All of them in their own right have great skills, talent, and abilities in and out of the ring. None of them take anyone’s crap or drama politics that has polluted wrestling for years.

Every promotion has to be able to sell tickets and merch. That is a given. But without the wrestlers or their athletes, how are they going to bring in more fans?

Back in the day, it was good storytelling, building up each other in promos, and creating excitement for great matches.

Those two teams do something that should have been done years ago. Plus it was not the right time then like it is now. They got tired of the same old story arcs, the backstage drama, and all the poor communication with each other.

They didn’t become wrestlers to talk a mean game and no action. They became wrestlers to see if they had what it takes to be a pro wrestler.

However, when it comes to the House of Black and the Black Pool Club they just don’t want all that backstage crap. They are there for a reason. They want to compete and push themselves to areas they have yet been to.

Kinda like ROH. It's not about the backwoods or who and the what’s. It's more like pushing yourself to a physical level that you can’t by other means. Just like in the UFC fights. Some pro-wrestling venues will only take you so far and only a few will test your physical abilities.

Like House of Black and Black Pool said if you are not here to give them the level they want then they will move you out of the way for someone to move them out of the way!

As they also say these would-be talks are nothing but talkers. I think it was best said by Rick Flair, “To be the man you have to beat the man!”

My father also said, your only number one for so long till someone else comes along to knock you off the top of the mountain. That’s what Black Pool and the House of Black are doing and saying.

“We are the top number ones and we are looking down from the dark pecks of the mountains! Who will or dares to knock us off and see you fall into the oceans below before you realize you had no chance in the first place to do so!” Yet, still lying in the darkness and the pools of dark waters before the demons and sharks strike again!”

The overall point is they are bringing something new and great to the ring of wrestling in general and more in tag team wrestling. They are just as hungry as the fans are to see what there is and who will climb to the rock wall of wrestling and become the absolute top of the food chain!

There is one thing that the House of Black, Black Pool Club, and Lucha Brothers have in common. They do not care who or what you are or all the talk you talk. They want you to give them a fight that will push them beyond their limits if you don’t bring the same level. They will slap you around like broken action figures and mock you for it!

Rey Phoenix does this every time he gets into the ring as well!

To them, it's not about being a champion or title belt! It’s not about winning or losing! It’s about stepping up and proving you have the grit, sweat, power, and heart to do the unthinkable! Either bring everything you have or just pack up and stay home!

This is what the Bullet Club was doing when they first started! But they fell off track and lost their way! Some would say they were trying to be the New NWO or a twisted version of DX. Some would also say they were getting too big. At that time I would agree.

But they were on a long mission to expand their flock. It was not the right time to do so back then! They wanted to expand to other wrestling companies like a bike gain would have in different states as chapters yet still a part of the same group!

No matter where they went they wanted to compete with the very best each company had to offer! However, they were only getting a taste of what they wanted.

It was not till a few years later when Lucha Underground first started and the birth of AEW came about they would get their chance. But it was slow going. Now the year is 2023 and a rebirth of the Trios titles has come about once again and those that want to test their limits to the very best. Within AEW, ROH, and whoever may come about in the days and years yet to come!

This is the time when hell breaks down the forbidden door and unleashes tag team wrestling to the future that is to come!

The whole world of tag team wrestling is blowing up and it is going to change! There are so many other teams out there that don’t get to see the light of day either. That too needs to change. Internet and video platforms don’t give the right reviews that those teams need or want.

Some are very harsh and brutal. Others hip them or push them over way too soon and they fall off.

When AEW first started the rankings for their wrestlers that was a huge step up in the right direction. If they do the same rankings with tag teams. Oh boy, are things and business going to step up!
