In one of my recent articles I mentioned the new Red Powder Coat (RPC) finish available on the LDH100 lockdown hardware from Trimco. On an whim, as I cruised through sunny SoCal this week, I asked Trimco if it was okay to drop in and check out the RPC in person. I was graciously welcomed by everyone there. (For you bike enthusiasts, that is a BSA Paratrooper folding bike from WWII. )
Back to my visit. I was curious what the RPC would look like, and how it would match up with the typical exit device architectural finish. It's been my experience that the schools appreciate a "Bright Red Button" to secure an opening. This picture shows the entire endcap in the RPC finish.
In this picture just the push-button is RPC.
I really like the look of the second one. However this angle is rarely seen. You really need to consider the view with the door closed.
This [door closed] view really drives home the need for the entire endcap to be RPC for me. I am curious what your thoughts are?
