A Trifecta of Good Moments
Even as the nightly news reveals a broken world, there are, nevertheless, mornings that bring a spring to my step. Such was the day on Friday. As luck would have it, I was invited to join with dear friends to pay homage to one of my earliest professional mentors, Michael Dukakis, on the occasion of his 90th birthday.
Within moments, across the transom came an opinion piece authored by my son, who works for the Program for Public Consultation, a non-profit whose mission is to improve democracy. JP Thomas , having labored for such good causes as the Brady Center for gun violence, voter rights, and the Biden Harris campaign - and having ghostwritten for others, was published under his own name.
And…within a span of two hours, I was treated by my friend, the extraordinary Pam Reeve, to a breakfast where the eggs were served with inspiration. At The Women's Edge event?celebrating the Top 100 Women-Led Businesses, the audience was treated to a speaker who had that rare ability to be both entertaining and wise. Lisa Sun's central message is that gravitas has nothing to do with age and much to do with confidence.
