December 2021: Meet Alvaro Camina

What drew you to Trifacta originally?

Trifacta first showed up when I was looking for a change in my professional career. When I saw the opportunity to join Trifacta in Berlin, I didn’t hestiate to apply. And, here we are, more than 3 years later.

What is your role at Trifacta?

I am based in Berlin and part of QA team. In the last year, I have been working as QAOps working to release Trifacta products quickly to the cloud.

What do you find the most challenging at Trifacta?

How amazing and challenging is to work in a start-up. I haven’t worked in a start-up before joining Trifacta. The company is constantly growing and this means that a lot of things are changing (new features, technologies in the product, process…) and we get to keep them on track.

Which Trifacta value resonates most with you & why?

“Iterate to Excellence”. I try always to deliver anything with the best quality possible. This means that being okay with “it works” is not an option. We should come back to release the best that we can.

What are 3 words to describe Trifacta?

Pioneering, Transparent, Collaborative

What is your personal philosophy?

I am an optimistic person always hoping that the best is what is coming and not what it’s gone.

What kinds of hobbies and interests do you have outside of work?

At work, I spend a lot of time at home. So what I really like it’s to spend time outside: enjoying nature, hiking, kayaking, camping…

The last adventure was three weeks in our campervan discovering Norway.

Where is the best place you’ve traveled to and why?

New Zealand is an amazing place to visit. My wife and I went there on our honeymoon and we can say that is paradise for anyone who loves nature.

The problem is that it is really far far far away.
