Trick Plays

There goes another trick play in Super Bowl LII (52).
Some have worked well and some have not. Was it worth the gamble? I think so.
This reminds me of what my coach recently told me.
My coach warned me about getting too cute. He said, “you need to tie everything that you say back to your core message.”
Yes, every-once-in-a-while, you may need to throw in a trick play. However, don’t let that steer you away from your game plan. Don’t let that distract you from your true message. Your true meaning for what it is that you’re doing and why.
Someone that exemplifies this is fellow speaker @Jon Gordon.
Jon was recently scheduled to speak at an event and wasn’t feeling 100%. As thoughts of cancelling danced in his head, he quickly reminded himself as to why he does what he does. You see, he speaks and writes on positivity and lives to inspire others to live lives with a positive attitude. That’s what he does, so if he is able to speak – he will.
Do you ever veer from your core message, purpose or reason for doing what you do?
When you stray, and start getting into areas that are not part of your core message, how do you get back on track? For me, I’ve written my core message and framework and made it part of my documentation.
I exist to help people to embrace their blindness to achieve a greater vision. The framework or phases that we take people through are:
BLIND >>> SIGHT>>>VISION
If you don’t know your core, how do you find it?
