Tributes have been paid to Geoff Kitchen, a retired insurance worker, who died after severe turbulence hit a Singapore Airlines flight. Kitchen, who previously worked as a business development manager at Acturis, suffered a suspected heart attack during the turbulence over the Irrawaddy Basin at 37,000 feet. The incident led to dozens of injuries and multiple hospitalizations. Kitchen was the only fatality on the flight, which was traveling from London Heathrow to Singapore. He was reportedly on holiday with his wife.

Robinson fondly remembered Kitchen as a true gentleman.

Following the turbulence, the pilot declared a medical emergency and diverted the aircraft to Bangkok. Singapore Airlines is fully cooperating with authorities in the investigation. Goh Choon Phong, chief executive of Singapore Airlines, expressed deep condolences to Kitchen's family and apologized for the trauma experienced by passengers and crew. The airline is providing all possible assistance and support during this difficult time.
