Tribute to health care employees
As the coronavirus broke out, people are anxious. We stay at home, work at home to protect and keep far from the virus. But, there are great groups, they are risking their lives in more than one ways to treat people infected with the coronavirus in hospitals. They are keeping close contact with patients at a very close distance. They are fighting more than just a virus outbreak. They work around the clock against the odds to battle the virus in a hard condition. They are high risk of being infected.
They are working non-stop, daytime and nighttime. They are surrounded by patients coughing next to them all night long. They had not been home for two weeks, long queues of patients line up at the outpatient clinic day and night.
Patients are more anxious than usual. When they cannot find a bed, they became desperate. Emotions are running high as the hospital has been running at maximum capacity. Too many patients need to be treated, too many tests need to be done, everybody is busy. They drink less in order not to go to the washroom when wearing the protective suits.
Are they afraid of being infected? Yes. Because they are mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, in their families. But when duty calls, they rush to the frontline without hesitation. I believe every one read their stories and are touched by them. Anger burst out when I heard the news that they face threats from panicking patients.
The face bruised from wearing the mask for too long, doctors soaked in sweat in their protective suits after hours of working, a mother nurse can only meet her girl across window railings. They deserve respect.
