We wish we could tell you that the pain goes away; it never will. We wish we could tell you that time heals but it doesn't. While we did not know Deputy Gumm personally, his reputation has touched us as it has all decent citizens. Your son, your brother and your friend is a hero to the people he so honorably served. We want you to know that we realize nothing we can say or do will lessen your loss. But please know we are hurting with you today. The seed your loved one has sown is hope for mankind and we thank you for your sacrifice. Our thoughts and prayers are with each and every one of you.
