"Deeply shocked by the news of the accident and passing away of a dear freind JS Vohra. I have a lost a great friend. My condolences to the family and friends.
Mr J S Vohra was the managing director of the Sarova Group Hotels and Resorts.
He is also the boss of the Nairobi Safari rally. He succambed to injuries after his vehicle rolled around the Amboseli Lodge while en route to watch the 2017 (8th edition) of the East Africa Classic Sarari Rally.
The President of the Republic of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta eulogised the late Vohra as a man who played a key role in promoting Kenya's tourism. A key sector in the country's economy which is one of the leading foreign income earners. In his condolences message, he said "At this moment of sorrow and grief, my thoughts and prayers are with the late Vohra's family, relatives, friends..."
